CoolSculpting vs Liposuction

At Renew Beauty, we offer a bunch of treatments to help our clients lose weight. Currently, we are offering  CoolSculpting and other non-invasive treatments to help our clients reduce fat and contour their body. Many patients may be confused about which treatment to choose, but our staff can help you decide which one is the right one for you.

Coolsculpting

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment. It uses cooling powers to freeze fat cells in the body. Once the cells in the body are frozen, they are then removed by the body’s natural removal process. This process is known as ‘cryolipolysis’ which is the principle that fat cells are more vulnerable to cooling. The cooled fat cells undergo apoptosis and are gradually eliminated, slowly reducing the thickness of the fat layer.

Once the fat cells are removed, the body cannot hold any more fat in the treated areas. The procedure takes about 4-6 treatments and take place over 2 to 4 months for them to be noticeable. This treatment has no downtime and can treat a variety of different areas on the body. These areas are:

  • Abdomen

  • Arms

  • Butt

  • Thighs

  • Legs

  • Chin

  • Back

  • Sides

CoolSculpting uses a cooling head attachment that is placed on the outlined areas. The doctor will move the CoolSculpting attachment in a circular pattern over the areas allowing the cold to penetrate. The procedure last approximately 30 minutes to an hour. With this procedure patients can resume their activities immediately after.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat from the body. The doctor uses a vacuum cannula to vacuum away the excess fat. It slims and reshapes the body, and begins to contour the areas where it was treated. This improves the body’s shape and proportion to match the areas where the liposuction was performed, however it is very much invasive and requires downtime. The areas where liposuction is performed are:

  • Thighs

  • Hips and buttocks

  • Abdomen and waists

  • Upper arms

  • Back

  • Inner knee

  • Chest area

  • Cheeks, Chin and Neck

  • Calves and Ankles

Unlike CoolSculpting, Liposuction is invasive and is often accompanied with other surgeries; such as tummy tuck which can complete the results of the liposuction.
