What are lip injections?

Lip injections is the administration of a cosmetic injectable to the lips, whether that area is the cupid’s bow, outer edges, or the plumpest part of your bottom lip. In addition, there are cosmetic injectables that are formulated to suit lip injections for both subtle and dramatic results.

What injectables may be used?

There are a few injectables which may be beneficial for lip augmentation. Some of them may include but are not limited to Restylane Silk, Juvederm Volbella, and Juvederm Ultra.

What if I am looking for natural results?

If you are looking to receive softer and more natural appearing results, then it may be a great idea for you to receive either Restylane Silk or Juvederm Volbella. The Restylane Silk injectable is a product that uses smaller particles of hyaluronic acid to create a seamless blend of injected product. On the other hand, Juvederm Volbella is a clear injectable gel that contains small particles of hyaluronic acid with special VYCROSS® technology in hopes of keeping the results long lasting.

What if I am looking for a more dramatic effect?

If you are looking for more bold and dramatic results, then it may be a great idea for you to consider receiving Juvederm Ultra. This injectable may be able to restore or add significant volume with slightly larger particles of hyaluronic acid.

Am I a good candidate for lip injections?

You may be a good candidate for lip injections if you are looking for a noninvasive treatment which may give additional volume to your lips. On the other hand, it is important to inform us of any conditions which may prevent you from being a good candidate. Some of these may include but are not limited to pregnancy, breastfeeding, your medical history on the treatment area such as previous injury or scarring, or any other medical conditions which may affect your eligibility. Are there any side effects?

There are a few side effects which may occur after receiving lip injections. Some of them may include but are not limited to bleeding, bruising, redness, swelling, tenderness, and lump formation may occur. If you are concerned with any of the side effects you are experiencing, feel free to call us so that we may be able to possibly ease your worries.*

What should I expect?

While receiving lip injections, there are a few things that you may be able to expect. To start, you may expect to have a consultation to decide the most optimal injection sites. After the area is cleansed, the product is then administered into the sites and then massaged in order to spread the product evenly, to possibly reduce swelling, and maybe even reduce pain. After that, you may experience some side effects, but they generally subside after about 14 days.*

Are lip injections painful?

A majority of patients report not experiencing pain, but you may experience some discomfort as a result of the small needle. If you are concerned about pain or have a very low pain tolerance, then feel free to discuss this concern with us so that we may be able to possibly address your concern.
