Protect your skin against breakouts and acne with Renew Beauty treatments!

Acne is one of the most common and stubborn skin problems. Regardless of skin type or lifestyle, approximately 80% of the population will suffer from acne at some point in their lives. Acne is common in both teens and adults.

Acne occurs when there is an overproduction of oil by the oil glands in the skin. The oil that normally lubricates the skin gets trapped in blocked oil ducts and results in what we know as pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads on the surface of skin. Sometimes it also includes deeper skin lesions that are called cysts.

By preventing those you are also avoiding future scarring and hyper-pigmentation. Blue Light Treatments:

P. acnes is the bacteria responsible for causing acne inflammation, pumps out tiny molecules called porphyrins. When porphyrin are exposed to certain wavelengths of light (blue), they produce free radicals that kill the bacteria that causes inflammatory acne.

Blue light treatments have with no side effects, no downtime, no pain, and without the exposure to antibiotics. Typically, just ten treatments over a four week period will greatly improve the appearance of skin.

What To Expect:

This technique usually requires no downtime afterward. For best results, it is recommended that you not wear cosmetics on your skin for at least 24 hours. However, laser acne treatment will not keep you away from any of your daily activities. You may see some post-treatment redness and minor irritation to your skin, but these symptoms will fade away in a few days. The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and will be explained to you during your initial consultation.

How much does it cost?
The cost of your laser acne treatment will depend on the number of sessions needed to attain the desired results. A member of our team can discuss costs in detail during your initial consultation.

Why blue light therapy?
Blue light therapy is unique because it delivers treatment directly to the surface of the skin to help eliminate bacteria. This means less downtime and treatments compared to traditional lasers. Blue light treatments are also great for those with mild to severe acne or dermal concerns.

Why multiple sessions?
We understand that every case is different, which is why we create a customized treatment plan for every patient. The number of treatments performed will depend on your condition and cosmetic goals. Some patients may only require one treatment to attain the outcome they want while others may need more.

Does it hurt?
During treatment, you may experience a slight heating sensation from the light, but most patients do not notice any discomfort. You will be encouraged to relax and close your eyes throughout the treatment. Prior to your therapy, we will be available to answer any questions that you may have.

What does the aftercare require?
Our office will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions for you to follow to enable optimal healing. We may advise that you refrain from direct sunlight for the first day after your treatment. Our aestheticians can also give you a list of skin care products that can help maintain the health of your complexion.
