What is the Fraxel Treatment Like?
When you visit us in Dallas, Frisco or Arlington for laser skin resurfacing, we will cleanse your skin and apply a topical anesthetic ointment to the treatment area. We’ll let the anesthetic take its numbing effects for 60 minutes before beginning treatment. The procedure itself takes about 20-25 minutes (for a full face). Patients experience a prickling sensation, but no intense pain.
Is There Downtime & When Will I See My Results?
Fortunately, the Fraxel® laser recovery does NOT resemble the laser recoveries of the past, which involved many weeks of downtime and laying low while the new skin grows. There is always some downtime after laser skin resurfacing, but the Fraxel® laser reduces that downtime significantly. It produces as little damage as possible to get the same spectacular results.

Most patients report redness, swelling, and itching. Some experience temporary acne or changes in skin color. Infection is possible, so please let your provider know if you are not healing quickly.
